If you have a nasty spot that you want to get rid of quickly (perhaps you have an important interview or social occasion tomorrow and don’t want a pesky spot to be the center of attention) try a few simple home remedies for pimples to find the overnight pimple treatment that is right for you.
Ice is often used to reduce swelling on the skin.
You simply wrap an ice cube in a wash cloth and place it on the affected area of your skin, for up to 15 minutes at a time.
For even better results, try applying a little benzoyl peroxide to the blemish before using the ice; the cold helps the benzoyl peroxide absorb into your skin more effectively.

As shown in the video above, aspirin is a really effective home remedy! Take one uncoated aspirin, crush it and add a little water to make it into a paste. Apply a small amount, just enough to cover the blemish – and leave it overnight. The salicylic acid in the aspirin is what really helps to zap those zits!
Zinc is a well-known anti-inflammatory, which is why it is a common ingredient in so many over the counter skin treatment products. Look for a pimple pen containing zinc, or if you have a tube of diaper ointment at home that contains zinc, try this instead. All you need to do is dab a little to the affected skin just before you go to bed. When you wake up in the morning, the appearance of the treated blemishes should be greatly reduced.
Most people have sea salt in their store cupboard. Mix a little with water (just enough to create a paste) and apply it to the blemished area. Leave it overnight and rinse it off in the morning.
You can do the same with a tiny spot of toothpaste. Make sure it is regular white paste, not gel and gently rub it into the skin with a clean fingertip. Both these treatments may sting a little, and if you have dry skin you may want to dab a little honey on top to reduce the drying effects of the salt or toothpaste.
It may take time to find the best overnight treatment for pimples and other blemishes on your skin. Whichever you choose, you should use it alongside a gentle, regular routine of skin cleansing, using products that are suitable for your skin type.
